Craddock Road-born Nevisian, Alvar David, has been promoted to Head Golf Professional in the USA.
Here is this report from Jim Kern, PGA manager at Las Colinas Golf and Sports Club:
“The Golf Department is thrilled to announce that Alvar David will be making the move to Head Golf Professional at TPC Las Colinas Golf and Sports Club Effective February 1st!
Alvar came to us from Four Seasons Resort Nevis, where he worked in Food & Beverage. When he moved to Four Seasons Dallas in February of 2003, he began his career in golf. He started the PGA Program in 2004, passed his PAT (Playing Ability Test) in 2005, and became a PGA Apprentice in 2006. On November 19, 2008, Alvar became an official, card-carrying Class A member of the PGA(Professional Golfers Association of America).
Alvar has worked in various areas of the golf department, instruction, and pro shop and manage the outside staff for a number of years. These areas have given him valuable experience in his development.
When Alvar is not on the golf course, he enjoys spending time with family, scuba diving, spearfishing, basketball, soccer, traveling and long walks on the beach.
Alvar is the first and only PGA member from the federation of St.Kitts and Nevis; he is well-liked by the entire membership, fellow PGA members and associates. I know Alvar has made his whole family and country proud as he is the first African American to hold this distinct title in our club’s history.
We are very excited for Alvar in this new role so that he can enhance his knowledge of the golf industry and provide exceptional service to our members and guests. Alvar has exceptional rapport with our members and guests, and his service delivery is second to none! Please join me and congratulate Alvar when you see him on a well-deserved promotion!”
