Two male students residing in the Newcastle area are safe after two assailants assaulted and attempted to rob them on Tuesday, July 22.
According to a police statement, police are investigating an assault and intended robbery of two males that took place on July 22 in Newcastle.
The police statement revealed that at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Monday, two masked assailants entered the home of the two men, tied them up and demanded money.
It further revealed that:
One of the masked men appeared to be armed and the other had what appeared to be a knife. The assailants searched the house and then fled the scene. No money or other property was taken, and no one was injured during the incident.

While investigations are currently ongoing, the police statement came three days after the incident occurred and queries about the the matter weren’t immediately answered.
