12-year-old Christophe Maleau successfully crossed the Saint Lucia channel to raise awareness for Breast Cancer, (the month of October is set aside for Breast Cancer Awareness).
Christophe Maleau, from the island of Martinique, embarked on his swim on last week Saturday and completed the challenge in 13 hours, 50 minutes and 47 seconds.
He started his swim at 5 am on Saturday from the Bay of Saint Lucia and swam across the channel. Loop Caribbean reported that the youngster was accompanied by a delegation of coaches, his family, divers and doctors.
He arrived at Sainte Anne in Martinique at 6 pm.
Maleau’s milestone was for a worthy cause as he solely jumped on the challenge to raise awareness for breast cancer and also encourage his mother who is suffering from the disease. His mother is currently in her remission phase, St. Lucia Times reports.
