Civilian and Police Exchange Fire resulting in death and injury.
Vincent “Shungy” Taylor was shot and killed after exchanging fire with police who surrounded him in Sandy Point earlier today. One officer was struck in the exchange of fire and is hospitalized.
Taylor was wanted by police for an armed robbery that occurred last December and he was a person of interest in the murder of Police Sergeant Leon “Shabba” Powell.
Officer Powell was shot and killed in his hometown of Newton Ground. At the time, he was in his bar in Newton Ground.
He was the 18th murder victim in the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis for 2018
