Basseterre: St. Kitts, Friday, June 19, 2026: A surge of vivid Oceanic blue swept through the main street of Charlestown Nevis as members of the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) Cabinet, Ministry of Education Officials (St. Kitts and Nevis), members of the Early Childhood Development Unit (ECDU), children, parents and well-wishers dressed in Child Month T-shirts celebrated the annual Parade Day in Nevis on Friday, June 19.
From the marching bands, participants, and spectators prancing, to the strategically placed water station, the early childhood department in Nevis actively presented the intent of the theme Fueling our Bodies with the Best: Good Nutrition, Movement, and Rest.

The participation of a contingent from the Nevis Division of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force served as a reminder of the adage ‘it takes a community to raise a child’ and reinforced the sense of community mirrored throughout the event.
Premier of Nevis Hon. Mark Brantley articulated his experience with enthusiastic satisfaction.

We are here in Charlestown at the Child Month March. Every year, we celebrate this march with our parents, our children, our teachers, and caregivers just to demonstrate the commitment of the government in support of our children and the overall society. I think it is a very important show of support, as all the Cabinet members are here as usual. My administration and I commend the work of the Early Childhood Development Unit.”
