The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, (ECCB) officially launched its new polymer $50 banknote on Wednesday at a Media ceremony in Basseterre.
According to Governor of the ECCB Timothy Antoine, the new $50 polymer notes will be in circulation in June.
Chairman of the Monetary Council, Prime Minister of Grenada Keith Mitchell speaking from Grenada commended Governor Antoine and his team for their innovation and their commitment to protect the EC currency.
The new notes, specifically the $10, $20 and the $100 bank notes will be circulated in September. While the new $5 bills will be rolled out in 2020.
