The Governments of Antigua and Barbuda and Russia have signed a visa waiver agreement which will soon allow Antiguans and Barbudans and Russians to travel to each other’s country visa free.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne on a recent trip to Russia met with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and they executed the visa-waiver agreement.
Once gazetted, Russians will be able to travel to Antigua and Barbuda without any visa. Likewise, Antiguans and Barbudans will be able to travel to Russia on a visa-free basis.
Speaking on his radio show on Sunday, Brown made it very clear that the visa waiver does not interfere with his country’s relationship with the United States.
He said:
We are not getting involved in any geopolitics with Russia and the United States. We have a policy, we are friends of all, enemies of none. We know where our bread is buttered. Our trade is with the United States and we know we have to protect that relationship.
