Dominican Thea Lafond has qualifed for the finals of the Women’s Triple Jump at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Lafond did so with an impressive jump of 14.60 to set a new national record in her first jump, (topping her group, group B). The automatic qualifying mark was 14.40 meters.
Lafond marched into the finals needing just one of her 3 alloted jumps to meet the qualification mark.
The finals of the Women’s Triple Jump will be held on Sunday.
