Today’s Cabinet session held greater significance as it was attended by members of the St. Kitts & Nevis (National) Marijuana Commission, led by Chief Medical Officer and Chairperson of the National Marijuana Commission, Dr. Hazel Laws.
Dr. Laws presented the Commission’s report to the Cabinet outlining its findings and recommendations on the best way forward.
Prime Minister Harris stated that his Cabinet is treating the matter of legislative reforms on marijuana as an important one and therefore welcomed the face-to-face dialogue with the National Commission on Marijuana.
The hosting of Cabinet meetings in Nevis has become a regular occurrence under the Team Unity administration. This is as a result of the much improved relationship that now exists between the Federal Government and the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) under the Team Unity administration.
Later this evening, the government will host the first in a series of town hall styled meetings, dubbed “Community Consultations,” at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church Hall in Charlestown from 7:30pm.
Today’s Cabinet meeting and town hall meeting both fall under the official calendar of activities organized as part of the Team Unity Government’s four-year anniversary in office.
The Government’s fourth anniversary celebrations are being held under the theme, “TEAM UNITY-Turning Dreams into Reality in every Community !”
