SKN PULSE, Bassettere, Saturday 17 December, 2016 – The action in the Leeward Islands Basketball Competition continued in Aguilla last night with a double header. Anguilla vs BVI and St.Kitts vs Montserrat.
A double overtime game between Anguilla and BVI turned things up a notch, however at the end of the game, host Anguilla were disappointed as the BVI team were victorious, (85-78). Hosts Anguilla will play Montserrat in the third place game later today, Saturday at 6 (pm).
In the second game St. Kitts played Montserrat. St. Kitts used the first and third quarters to dominate Montserrat as they outscored them by 11 and 9 respectively.
St. Kitts won by 12 points, (SK 64 – MON 52) and were led by Nashorn Maynard who has been the dominant guy player for St. Kitts. He posted 28 points and 23 rebounds.
St. Kitts will face the British Virgin Islands in the championship game today at 8 (pm).
In other results, Barbuda beat Nevis by in the fifth place encounter. Nevis placed sixth and Barbuda placed 5th.
