Sports Update: LICB 50 over Tournament

St. John’s, Antigua – A battle between the narrows: St. Kitts reigned supreme today as they defeated their sister isle counterpart in a LICB 50 over game.
The match which was played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium today, (Monday 15) saw three half centuries been scored.
St. Kitts won the toss and decided to bat first. They posted a competitive 249/9 in their allotted 50 overs. Akeem Saunders topped scored with 82 and Larry Audain scored 67. Terrance Warde contributed with 26.
Jason Campbell was the pick of the Nevisian bowlers as he bagged 4 wickets for 55 runs. Theron Bussue and Justin Athanaze picked up two wickets each.
The Nevisians failed to reach their target in the allotted 50 overs. Opening batsman, Ross Powell hit a half century but in a losing effort. He scored 51. Nevis reached 169/8 in 50 overs. Jason Campbell contributed with a knock of 24*.
Sheno Berridge bagged 4 wickets while Elvin Berridge bagged 2 wickets.
St. Kitts won by 80 runs.
