Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 16, 2018 – Two of the Federation’s National Heroes, whose anniversary of their birth falls on September 16, will be saluted during separate ceremonies on Monday 17th September.

As National Heroes Day falls on a Sunday, the events will be held on Monday 17th, a public holiday.

The East Basseterre Labour Branch has invited the general pubic to a Special Wreath Laying and Recognition Ceremony to pay tribute to the late Rt. Excellent Sir C. A. Paul Southwell and Labour Stalwarts from the East.

The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. at the round-a-bout where a bust is erected at the entrance of the C. A. Paul Southwell Industrial Park.

On Monday afternoon at 4 p.m., the Annual Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the Robert L. Bradshaw Memorial Park, St. Paul’s, will take place in honour of national heroes.

Wreaths will be laid by the Political Leader of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition, the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas; the President of the St. Kitts-Nevis Trades and Labour Union. Mr. Fidel O’Flaherty; the Chairman of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party, Dr. Terrance Drew, Resident Ambassadors of the Republic of China (Taiwan); Cuba, Brazil and Venezuela and members of the Bradshaw family.
