SKN PULSE, Saturday 31, December 2016- Nine young teens hailing from, St. Kitts, Nevis, Anguilla, Guyana, St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Maarten, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Dominica vied for the coveted title of Miss Caribbean Talented Teen in the 37th Annual Haynes Smith Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant held last night at Carnival Village, St. Kitts.

The talented Miss St. Kitts, Kadeema Blanchette, the former Miss National Carnival Talented Queen was crowned the 2016-2017 Haynes Smith Caribbean Talented Teen winner last evening at Carnival Village. She amassed a total of 807 points and won two of the four judged segments. The young teens appeared in four judged segments: Talent, Evening Wear, Interview and Theatrical Appearance.
The staging of the 37th Annual Haynes Smith Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant was hosted by Rodell ‘Ro’dey’ Cumberbatch, an entertainer from Trinidad and Tobago.
Local rising stars Dejour and Shana entertained the audience as the special guest artists.

Kadeema’s impressive career to date is highlighted by being named as one of the Nation’s 25 Remarkable Teens. Currently a fifth form student at the Basseterre High School, Kadeema is a senior dancer at the renowned Children’s Dance Theatre and a tutor at its sister company the Fireflies Dance School. Added to that she is a member of the St. Kitts and Nevis Under-21 National Netball team and serves as captain for the Basseterre High School Netball Team.
Kadeema was also the top performer in Friday night’s show in the Theatrical Appearance and Talent segment respectively.

Miss Guyana, Alia Wong placed first runner up and was only seventy and a half points behind Miss St. Kitts with a total of 736.5 points. While Miss Anguilla was two points behind Guyana for the second runner up spot.
Miss Barbados, Reanne White amassed a total of 724 points for the third runner up position.
Best Evening Wear was won by Miss Anguilla, Arielle Gaskin. Meantime, Best Talent and Best Theatrical Appearance went to Kadeema Blachette of St. Kitts.

The 2016 – 2017 MISS CARIBBEAN TALENTED TEEN is MISS ST. KITTS, KADEEMA BLANCHETTE (807 points)
1st runner up – Miss Guyana 736.5 points
2nd runner up – Miss Anguilla (734.5 points)
3rd runner up – Miss Barbados (724 points)
Best Talent – Miss St. Kitts (348 points)
Best Theatrical Appearance – Miss St. Kitts (225 points)
Best Evening Wear – Miss Nevis (99.5 points)
Best Interview – Miss Anguilla (154 points)
