Hurricane Irma Impacts Nevis: damages to the housing stock, several downed electrical poles and wires

SKN PULSE – Two Hurricanes inside 12 days. Irma and Maria: According to Nevis Disaster Management, Maria impacted Nevis more. 


There are several reports of damages to the Housing stock, Agriculture. Electrical poles and electrical wires were down island wide and several large trees were uprooted. 



The coastline has been extensively damaged following the impact of a second Cat 5 Hurricane inside 12 days. Parts of the island is still without electricity and water. 

The PWD, NEVLEC, volunteer heavy equipment operators and other Emergency Services were out yesterday and the clean up exercises and restoration work continues today. 


The ferry service between St. Kitts and Nevis has been halted as the seas remain rough.
