Basseterre, St.Kitts (September 18th, 2017):- The Horsford’s Group of Companies has partnered withThe Rotary Club of St. Kitts , the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Christophe Harbour in sending much needed relief supplies to the Hurricane Ravaged Islands of Tortola and Anguilla.
Horsford’s donated over $40,000 in relief items to the Hurricane ravaged islands as part of the relief drive Spearheaded by local Architect Eustace Stacey Hobson , facilitated by the Rotary Club , Christophe Harbour Development and coordinated by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Horsford’s , an over 120 year old local company donated some $20,000 in relief items to Anguilla and another $20,000 in relief items were sent to the BVI.
The Horsford’s Valu Mart IGA also facilitated a hurricane relief food and water collection drive at the Horsford’s Complex parking lot . 1000’s of items were collected for shipment to the ravaged islands in an effort again coordinated by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The food drive took place on Friday 15th September. Persons purchasing in Valu Mart IGA were facilitated with large bins to accommodate their contributions of food and water to the food and water collection drive .
St. Kitts was identified as the operational hub for relief efforts for the affected islands because of its centralized proximity to those islands. The Horsford’s support of these efforts with the donation of items in addition to other activities ensures the strengthening of efforts to provide relief to our island neighbors .
