Antigua Observer,  Friday 5 November 2016 – The Garden Hotspurs FC out of St Kitts will compete in the 2016 instalment of the Warriors Cup Football Tournament slated for this weekend in All Saints.

Chief organiser and President of the Warriors Football Club, Senator Colin James, made the announcement on Thursday, adding that this year’s tournament will mark the club’s 25th years of existence.

“Actually, we wanted them to come up for the actual Warriors Cup tournament, but the timing just couldn’t be made. So I met with the ambassador for sports in St Kitts and I spoke to him about it, asking if he could assist with getting a team up from St Kitts, and he said yes. He is closely associated with the Garden Hotspurs Football Club and they have consented to come up this weekend,” he said.

“We were hoping they could have done it for the international break but several of their players are St Kitts national team players and I think the St. Kitts national team has a commitment next weekend,” he added.
