CEO MORRIS REPRESENTS FEDERATION AT US BASED LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME (IVLP)

Basseterre: St. Kitts, Monday, February 13, 2023:​ Chief Education Officer (CEO), Mr. Francil Morris has been selected to represent St. Kitts and Nevis in the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) being held in Washington DC, USA. The IVLP is hosted by the US Department of State as part of its foreign policy under the theme “Education in the DigitalAge”. The project runs February 11 to March 04, 2023.

During the project period, CEO Morris is being exposed to the impact of technology in transforming classrooms (primary to tertiary); investigating the educational opportunities provided by technology for disadvantaged students, and older adults, as well examining how stakeholders in education can “evaluate, fund and support technological innovation in classrooms”.

Mr. Morris expressed appreciation and gratitude for being afforded this opportunity and noted, “The information garnered will support the Ministry of Education in the implementation of the recently launched Enhancing Learning Continuity Program (ELCP) as it ties into the government’s mandate for digital literacy.”

Mr. Morris’ participation in the professional exchange programwas made possible through nomination by the US Embassy in Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean, and the OECS and the subsequent acceptance of his nomination by the US Department of State.
