SKN PULSE – A newcomer was crowned for Queen in the 2017/2018 staging of the Calypso Queen show hosted on Friday 17th November downtown at the Circus. Kendra Hutton singing as Brown Sugar dethroned veteran singer Kimara Martin Williams, ‘Lady Diva’.
Competition was tight as 10 females battled for supremacy. Backed by Grand Masters band, the new entrants into the competition came up against the likes of Queeny G and Kibiane Willet.
However, at the end of the evening, Brown Sugar’s song ‘Just Another Day’ resonated with the large crowd and got the judges nod.
The results were as follows:
SUGAR MAS 46 CALYPSO QUEEN – Kendra ‘BROWN SUGAR’ Hutton (392 points)
1st runner up – Miss Independent (383 points)
2nd runner up – Lady Diva (377 points)
3rd runner up – Queeny G (366 points)
The other competitors were Singing Jennifer, Lil Miss, Singing Sensation, Singing Sharon, Lady B and Queen Kibie.
