Back in 2015, they both won the power and groovy segments….now in 2019; X-Man captured the groovy crown with his popular hit, ‘No Place I’d Rather Be’ while Speedy won the power segment with his song titled, ‘Ready’.
The two popular artistes were crowned in the wee hours of Friday morning after a keenly contested National Bank Groovy and Power Soca Monarch Finals at the Cultural Village.
Speedy and Delly “Make Bacchanal” and Irveeka’ “Rescue Me” secured the first and second runners up positions respectively in the Groovy category.
Delly Ranks was first runner up in the power category with “Yeehaw”. Ras Browne was Delly’s closest competitor. He sang “Hands Up” which earned him second runner up.
Tomorrow, (Saturday 3 August) the annual food fair will be held at Pinneys. The swimsuit round of the Miss Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant and Mr. GQ International will also take place tomorrow at Lime Beach Bar.
Later that night, the TDC Senior Kaiso Finals will be held at the Nevis Cultural Complex.
