BASSETERRE, St. Kitts– The St. Kitts Amateur Volleyball Association (SKAVA) is proud to announce that two elite beach volleyball pairs have been selected to represent the Federation at the first stop of the 2026 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour.

The tournament will be held in San Jose, Costa Rica, marking the beginning of an intensive competitive season for our national athletes.

Representing the Federation in the high-stakes international circuit are:

Men’s Team: Julian Bristol and Elkreen Morton
Women’s Team:Jontelle Hensley-Phillip and Shajunee Gumbs

Both teams have undergone rigorous training locally and are prepared to test their skills against the region’s best. These tour stops serve as vital benchmarks for our athletes as they climb the regional rankings and gain international exposure.

Road to the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games

The Costa Rica leg of the NORCECA Tour is more than just a standalone competition; it is a critical component of SKAVA’s long-term development strategy. Participation in these high-level matches provides the “trial by fire” necessary to prepare our athletes for the upcoming Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games.

“Our athletes are not just playing for medals in Costa Rica; they are building the consistency and mental toughness required for the CAC Games,” said coach Rick. “Competing against top-tier talent in the NORCECA circuit is the best way to ensure we are podium-ready when the regional games arrive.”

Acknowledging Our Partners

The participation of our teams would not be possible without the unwavering support of our stakeholders. SKAVA extends a heartfelt thank you to the St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee (SKNOC). Their invaluable financial support and commitment to the development of beach volleyball have been the cornerstone of this mission. By investing in our athletes today, the SKNOC is directly contributing to the growth of the sport and the future success of the Federation on the world stage.

SKAVA invites the general public and volleyball enthusiasts to join us in wishing Julian, Elkreen, Jontelle, and Shajunee the best of luck as they head to San Jose to fly the national flag with pride.
