Dancehall entertainer, Sean Paul Francis Henriques was honoured by the Jamaican Government with the Order of Distinction, Commander Class, for his contribution to global awareness, promotion and popularity of reggae music.
Yesterday, (Monday 21 October) was observed as National Heroes Day, the Grammy-winning entertainer and other fellow Jamaicans were formally recognised at an official ceremony.
Sean Paul is hailed as the artiste responsible for the crossover of reggae and dancehall genres into international markets that include Latin and Pop.
He joins an elite list of music producers and artistes who have made sterling contributions to the development of various genres of Jamaican music.
