Newton and Liburd Off to Jamaica for Training

St Kitts and Nevis Athletics has announced that Shamarie Newton and Chesson Liburd will begin an intensive training stint in Jamaica under the guidance of renowned coach Glen Mills and the distinguished Racers Track Club. Both athletes departed the St Kitts and Nevis earlier today for Jamaica.

According to SKN Athletics, both athletes will benefit from a high-performance training environment in Jamaica, as they will working closely with experienced coaches and elite athletes.

SKN Athletics said,

This opportunity will allow them to further refine their technique, improve their conditioning, and gain valuable exposure to one of the Caribbean’s most successful track and field programs.

The stint forms part of the ongoing efforts to enhance athlete development and ensure that promising talents from St. Kitts and Nevis continue to progress at the highest level. Training within such a professional and competitive setting is expected to significantly contribute to their preparation for upcoming regional and international competitions.



Both Newton and Liburd are anticipated to return home better equipped with the knowledge, experience, and performance improvements necessary to represent St. Kitts and Nevis with distinction on the track.
