An investigation has been launched into a traffic accident which occurred on Friday evening, January 17, 2025, at approximately 6:50 p.m. along the Island Main Road near Caribbean Cove.
The accident involved a motorcycle and a stationary wall fence. Both the motorcyclist and his pillion rider suffered injuries.
The motorcycle, identified by its registration number PB-3743, was owned and operated by Angel Carpio Calderon, a resident of Bath Village. He collided with the wall fence and both him and his pillion rider, Byron Fabien of Ramsbury, were rushed to the Alexandra hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Calderon sustained critical injuries, which included head trauma and multiple fractures affecting his lower body and limbs while Fabien’s injuries comprised of pain in his left hip and a superficial cut on his left wrist.
The circumstances surrounding the cause of the accident are being investigating.
