BUJU BANTON TO PERFORM AT ST. KITTS MUSIC FESTIVAL 2019

Reggae icon Buju Banton will be in St. Kitts in June – His Long Walk To Freedom tour now includes St. Kitts.

Last night at Cooler Fete which was held at Warner Park, St. Kitts, Ambassador for Sports, Mr. Jonel Powell revealed that Buju Banton will feature at the 2019 edition of the St. Kitts Music Festival.

The announcement of Buju Banton to the lineup was welcoming news for patrons at the Cooler Fete last night. Buju’s Long Walk To Freedom Tour which kicks off in March now includes: Jamaica, Bahamas, Trinidad, Barbados and St. Kitts. It is expected other announcements will be forthcoming.

Banton, whose real name is Mark Myrie, recently returned to Jamaica after serving eight years behind bars in the United States on drug-related charges.

The artistes revealed for the St. Kitts Music Festival thus far are Smokey Robinson, French Montana, Davido and Popcaan.

Banton is a major reggae star, winning a Grammy award in 2011 for his album ‘Before the Dawn’. He was previously nominated in the Best Reggae Album category in 2004, and 2010 for his albums ‘Friends for Life’ and ‘Rasta Got Soul’.
