Jamaican sprinter and World U20 Champion, Briana Williams clocked 11.38s to win a keenly contested U20 Girls 100M race at the Pan Am Games being held in San Jose, Costa Rica.
Williams was tested by the Americans, Davis and Pressley who finished second and third respectively. She edged out Davis by 0.01s.
Thelma Davis clocked 11.39s while her teammate, Brandy Pressley who earned the bronze medal clcoked 11.41s.
Briana’s victory gives Jamaica its first and only gold medal thus far.
