Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 2, 2018 – Just over 24 hours after the lifeless body of a Guyanese man was found in Nevis on Saturday, a decomposed body of a male was discovered in a ghut in the Wingfield area of Old Road, six miles west of Basseterre on Sunday.

Residents believe the decomposed body is that of missing Newton Ground resident, Priston Joel Fleming, who was last seen in the Old Road/Verchild’s area on February 27 wearing a white polo T-shirt and short dark khaki pants.

Sources in Old Road said the decomposing body was found by a senior police officer who was on a hike with his wife.

Law enforcement officials including senior police officers, the Crime Scene Unit and soldiers of the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force descended on the scene.

On Saturday, the body of 27-year-old Marlon James of Brown Hill was discovered in bushes at Hamilton, Nevis.

“There were signs of violence and multiple gunshots wounds about the body,” a police statement issued Saturday afternoon said.

A reliable source said the body had severe burns and at least seven bullet wounds.

There is speculation James was killed elsewhere and his body dumped on the road in Hamilton and then burned.
