A Historic First for St. Kitts & Nevis Aquatics – Skyla and Jonathan To Compete at Commonwealth Games

Two swimmers, Skyla Connor and Jonathan Essien, will become the first swimmers to represent St. Kitts & Nevis at the Commonwealth Games.

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games take place from Thursday, July 23 to Sunday, August 2, 2026.

The St. Kitts & Nevis Aquatics Federation (SKNAF) made the announcement on Tuesday night across its social media pages.

Skyla will compete in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Breaststroke, while Jonathan will race in the 50m Butterfly and 100m Butterfly.

They will be accompanied by SKNAF President Eldon Thomas, who will serve as Team Manager and Coach.

Accorindng to the SKNAF, this historic milestone reflects the athletes’ dedication, perseverance, and hard work, while marking another important step forward for aquatics in St. Kitts & Nevis.

The St. Kitts & Nevis Aquatics Federation (SKNAF) expressed thanks to the St. Kitts & Nevis Olympic Committee for its continued support in helping make this moment possible.
