After the match, Village’s coach Steven Clarke said the addition of two players in their defensive lineup, brought some defensive stability to the team. He also praised his players for taking their chances, which he said was the difference maker in this match. “With the inclusion of two of our backbone coming back here, which are Samba and (Hasani Flemming), that made us a bit sturdier and stronger inside,” Clarke said. ” What really happened is that we finished the chances that we had. That was the main difference with his game than in game 1,” he added.
Goalkeeper of St. Paul’s Jamal Jeffers said Village wanted it more than his team, and they have to regroup for game 3. “Village wanted it more and they ended up getting the game. We tried to stay in the game as much as possible…Maybe the road to glory is supposed to be a little bit harder than expected so we just look forward to Friday’s game,” Jeffers said. The winner of Friday’s game three will be crowned the 2023 SKNFA Premier League champions.
