ST. KITTS & NEVIS WINS PRESTIGIOUS CFATF AWARD FOR BEST ML/TF CASE

St. Kitts and Nevis has won the Best Regional Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (ML/TF) Case Award (BREMOLT) at the 61st Plenary Session of the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF), held in Bridgetown, Barbados from November 24th to 28th, 2025.

Out of the three finalists (Suriname, Turks and Caicos Islands, and St. Kitts and Nevis), our Federation emerged the winner after presenting a standout case built on strong investigative work, robust inter-agency cooperation, and effective use of AML/CFT tools.

Inspector Jerry Watt of  the RSCNPF, Head of the White Collar Crime Unit (WCCU), delivered the winning presentation to the Plenary.

Watt’s case summary highlighted:

  • Detailed financial analysis performed by the FIU
  • Strong collaboration between the WCCU, FIU, DPP’s Office, Customs, Immigration, and local financial institutions
  • Regional support from the British Virgin Islands
  • International cooperation, including agencies within the United States
  • Successful prosecution of the offender, resulting in conviction, fines, and imprisonment

This award demonstrates the effectiveness of St. Kitts and Nevis’ AML/CFT framework and showcases the high-standard investigative capabilities within the Police Force.
