St. Kitts and Nevis has recorded four additional recoveries from COVID-19 taking the total recoveries to 12.
Earlier today at the NEOC briefing, Dr Laws confirmed the recoveries. Later in the evening, the Nevis Health Promotion Unit shared the graphic below confirming all four recoveries were related to Nevis.
This increases the countrywide recovery percentage by 26.7% as 80% percent of the confirmed cases have now fully recovered.
To date, 318 persons have been sampled and tested of which 15 were positive and 303 negative results.
Of the 12 confirmed cases, St. Kitts has recorded 8 recoveries and Nevis 4.
55 persons are quarantined in a Government facility while 5 persons are quarantined at home.
There are 3 persons in isolation. The last announced confirmed positive result of the coronavirus in St Kitts and Nevis was on April 19, 2020.
Dr Laws thanked each member of the Health Emergency Centre Team for their efforts and stated:
We have been successful in containing the first wave of the COVID-19 caes. On the ground, we continue active surveillance for coronavirus disease cases, and we continue aggressive tracing of contacts of cases.
Before concluding her brief presentation, Dr Laws shared a quote by Desmond Tutu with the listening audience:
Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.
