Charlestown, Nevis – The body of a middle-aged man, identified as Leon Gumbs was found in Church Ground, Nevis approximately 10:45 (am) early Sunday morning, (29th January).
Circumstances that led to the discovery of body are that concerned neighbors became alarmed after not seeing Gumbs on the weekend and with a foul stench emanating from his residence they alerted the authorities who made the discovery early Sunday morning.
Earlier, we reported that while it wasn’t ruled a homicide, sources close to the investigation indicated that foul play was suspected.
However, this medium has since confirmed that it has been recorded as the 1st Homicide for Nevis in 2017.
Gumbs, who is said to be in his early 40’s may have been killed since Friday. The body was already in a decomposed state and his body bore multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigations are ongoing.
