Basseterre, St. Kitts (Wednesday 3rd May 2017) – Kittitians earlier this morning witnessed the arrival of the world’s largest cruise ship to its shores. Harmony of the Seas, on Wednesday 3rd May, 2017 docked at Port Zante with the assistance of SCASPA’s qualified and efficient pilots, (will be in our waters until 5pm).
According to a release from SCASPA date April 25th, a welcome ceremony is planned where delegates from St. Kitts Tourism, the St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority, Agents and other dignitaries will officially welcome Harmony, the third Oasis-Class Cruise ship in the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, to the shores of St. Kitts. The release further stated that, ‘MS Harmony of the Seas has been recorded as the world’s largest passenger ship in the world, surpassing her older sisters Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas’.
Harmony of the seas, a 362.12 metre long ship, has some 2,747 staterooms, with a wide variety of types, to accommodate 5,479 passengers at double occupancy with 6,780 at maximum. The ships is the second Royal Caribbean ship to feature water slides, “Ultimate Abyss” dry slide at the stern of the ship and the “Perfect Storm” water slides.
Addtionally, the ship like its Oasis sisters is divided into seven neighborhoods, including Central Park and Boardwalk.
Harmony of the Seas is the 7th Inaugural call for the 2016/17 season.
