A defining moment in the CARIFTA games came when Trishanni Warner, a 13 Year old athlete from St. Kitts and Nevis won gold in the U17 Girls 800m. The young athlete is one of the youngest members of team St. Kitts and Nevis.

Trishanni, a second form student of the Charles E. Mills Secondary School, stunned spectators when she crossed the line in first position with a lifetime best of 2:15.73 seconds.

Accomplishing such a feat, Warner secured the first team gold of the 2018 games for team SKN. In addition, she is now the youngest medalist in the CARIFTA Games 2018.

Janill Williams of Antigua and Barbuda is the youngest medalist in Carifta Games History. She was 11yrs when she won gold at 3000m in Bridgetown, Barbados in 1997.
