Dubbed as one of the most known Soca acts in the world, Soca king Machel Montano will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT).
On graduation day which will span two days, (November 14th and 15th) Montano will receive the Honorary Doctor of Arts from the University.
1700 students will be presented with Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees when the graduation ceremony is held. Among those will be two Masters of Philosophy and seven Doctors of Philosophy degrees.
Machel Montano is among five special awardees.
Montano’s career soans more than 20 years and has been regarded as one of the most successful.
