BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, OCTOBER 2ND 2017 – Tragedy struck last night as a young basketball player identified as Secada Garroden of Sandy Point, lost his life in a deadly multiple vehicular accident, (Sunday 1st October, 2017).
According to reports reaching this media house the accident involved a bus driven by a young man known as “Jigga” and a privately owned motor vehicle.
The youth reportedly died on the spot in the accident that occurred in the vicinity of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine nearly four miles west of Basseterre.
Mr. Wallis Wilkin, President of the St Kitts Basketball Association Wallis Wilkin posted on his Facebook page that the young man died while travelling on the team bus following a basketball game last night:
“DEEPLY SADDENED !!!! My Basketball Fraternity is in deep mourning . Tonight one of our Premier Teams the SP Kings was involved in an accident that has so far resulted in the death of one player.
Promising and gifted national youth player Secada Garroden died in a horrific accident earlier this evening whilst traveling with teammates on the team bus heading home from a game at basketball city . Words cannot describe the hurt we are all feeling within our basketball family at this moment. On behalf of the SKNABA Executive and on my own behalf I extend my most heartfelt condolences to the family of Secado and the SP Pride Kings and the entire Sandy Point Community on this tragic loss.”
