Jelani Manners, Kian Pemberton and Justin Armadan have been selected in the Leewards U19 team that will participate in the regional Cricket Tournament hosted by the West Indies Cricket Board.
According to an article penned by Curtis Morton, the players left Nevis via sea taxi yesterday, (Sunday 22nd July) enroute to the RLB airport in St. Kitts. They departed the Federation as they headed off to join their other team-mates.
The players selection were as a result of their performances in the recently concluded Leeward Islands U19 tournament held in Montserrat. Speedster, Kian Pemberton was the lead wicket taker in the tournament. He walked away with three awards, the Derick Parry Nevis MVP award, the Lionel Baker Best Fast Bowler Award and the Austin White Bowler with the most wickets award. Manners and Armadan made solid contributions with the bat.
All matches are scheduled for St. Vincent. Expected participating teams include Barbados, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and host country Winward Islands.
The Leewards team will be captained by Zawandi White of Montserrat and ably assisted by Elroy Francis – vice captain.
The rest of the squad is as follows: Mickyel Louis; Anderson (Justin) Armadan; Uri Smith; Paul Miller; Demari Benta; Antonio Fernandes; Joshua Grant; Jemuel Cabey; Kian Pemberton; Javia Spencer; Jelani Manners and Stevel Rodney.
The team will be managed by Purnell R. Joseph alongside Head-coach, Terry Adams.
