ST. KITTS & NEVIS – The St. Kitts & Nevis Aquatics Federation (SKNAF) is excited to announce its team for the 2026 CARIFTA Aquatics Championships taking place in Martinique from April 2-9.

The championships will bring together top young talent from 28 Caribbean nations. The pool events will take place between April 4-7 at the Pierre Samot Community Aquatic Centre and the open water event will be held on April 8 at Anses d’Arlet.

Representing the Federation are Skyla Connor, who will compete in the Breaststroke, Butterfly, and Freestyle events, while Austin Williams will take on the Open Water challenge. Connor enters the championships following a year of consistent improvement and strong performances, while Williams earned his place in the open water event after a standout long-distance swim earlier this year. The team will be guided by Coach James Weekes,  along with Eldon Thomas, President of SKNAF, and Danielle Connor as team chaperone.

Notably, this marks the first time St. Kitts & Nevis will be represented in the open water event at CARIFTA, reflecting the Federation’s continued growth and commitment to developing the sport across multiple disciplines.

“Both athletes represent the dedication, resilience, and steady progression of our national program,” said Coach James Weekes. “CARIFTA provides an invaluable opportunity to test themselves against the region’s best, and we’re confident they will compete at a high level.”

As the region’s premier aquatic competition for athletes aged 11-18, CARIFTA offers an invaluable platform for international experience and national pride. SKNAF salutes the athletes’ dedication and looks forward to building on this milestone as the Federation continues to expand and strengthen aquatic sports in St. Kitts & Nevis.
