The St. Kitts and Nevis U23 National team has punched their tickets for the CONCACAF Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship.
On Sunday in Jamaica at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex in Arnett Gardens, St. Kitts and Nevis played their final encounter in the group stage. Requiring just a draw to advance, St. Kitts and Nevis remained composed and handled their business against Jamaica.
The final scoreline 1-1.
The group which comprised of just three teams, St. Kitts and Nevis, Dominica and Jamaica saw St. Kitts and Nevis topping the group with four, (4) points – 1 win and 1 draw.
In their first encounter, they trounced Dominica 4-0. Geovanni Lake scored two, (2) goals and Yohannes Mitchum and Tyquan Terrel both scored one goal each.
Team St. Kitts and Nevis were very confident going into the group stage. Their confidence seemingly grew after Dominica drew their first encounter with Jamaica.
Mitchum during an interview with Sportsmax said:
I am very confident that we can top the group

Team manager Jamir Claxton also echoed the same sentiments. He expressed that:
This team is a very talented team that has been playing together for a number of years

St. Kitts and Nevis while small showed that they are tallawah. Their success at the group stage will now see them advancing to the CONCACAF Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship where they will faceoff against the Dominican Republic.
The top two teams will qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics men’s football tournament in Japan.
