On the 8th day of February 2023, nineteen (19) year old Mr. Mauriel Knight was announced as the Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly of St. Kitts and Nevis.
Mr. Knight currently serves as the President of the St. Kitts National Youth Parliament Association. Having been elected in September 2021, this is currently Mr. Knight’s second tenure as the President and he has been the youngest serving President of the Association since its inception in 2001.
When introduced as the newest staff of the National Assembly, the Speaker, Hon. Lanein Blanchette, mentioned that Mr. Knight is “uniquely poised to be an asset of the National Assembly.”
The Association is extremely proud of Mr. Knight and wishes him a very successful tenure.
SKNYPA is a non- profit, non-governmental, non- partisan youth association governed by the motto “Equality and Justice in Nation Building.” The Association continues to be a training ground for young persons with a passion for service and parliamentary practices.
