Shirvon Greene, A Top 10 Back Head Coach
Nevisian Track & Field Head Coach Shaping the Next Generation of Top Athletes – Head Coach Shirvon Greene of the Monroe Mustangs Track and Field Team has been named a Top 10 Black Head Coach in Men’s and Women’s Track and Field. The Black Coaches Association is celebrating Greene and nine other head coaches.
They revealed the Top 10 Black Head Coaches in an Instagram post on Wednesday afternoon. Greene’s recognition reflects his hard work, time, and dedication to his athletes.
Winning Is A Standard
Just this year, Coach Greene led the Mustangs Women’s team to the No. 1 ranking in the Atlantic region. Athletes ranked #1 in a region high 6 events. The team had 7 National qualifiers in 9 events, and a school record was set in the Long Jump (5.82m).
Additionally, he led the Mustangs Men to 3 school records. They were set in the 200m (20.97), 400m (46.28) & 600m (1:17.56). His athletes were ranked No. 1 in a region in 5 events (200m, 400m, 600m, 1K & 5k). Nationally, his athletes ranked No. 1 & No. 2 in the 400m & No. 2 in the 600m.
This year also marked the fifth consecutive year that Coach Greene won the Men’s and Women’s Head Coach of the Year award.
Now, Greene’s success, along with the other coaches, is being amplified and celebrated by the Black Coaches Association (BCA).
In an exclusive interview with SKN PULSE, Greene said it is truly an honor to be ranked among the top 10 D1 Head Coaches.

He further lamented;
None of this would be possible without God, and I give Him all the glory for the journey so far.
I want to acknowledge each and every athlete on the team for their belief, work ethic, and commitment to our standard. My fantastic coaching staff and the support staff team put in countless hours behind the scenes, and this recognition reflects their dedication.
Thank you to the athletic administration and the school for providing the resources and environment to compete at this level. I’m grateful to President Marc Jerome and Chairman Stephen Jerome for their continuous support of our program and vision.
And to all the well wishers who have been in our corner thank you. This honor is shared with all of you.
