Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 13, 2026 — The St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) today officially renamed the waiting lounge at Transit Facility Shed 2 at the Deep Water Harbour as the Ike Tross Waiting Lounge, in recognition of the life, dedication, and service of former Seaport Operations employee Mr. Ike Tross.
The ceremony brought together members of the Tross family, SCASPA executives, staff, and invited stakeholders, including Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation and International Transport, the Honourable Marsha T. Henderson, and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Ms. Tivanna Wharton, to reflect on Mr. Tross’ contributions and the role he played within the daily operations of the port community.
Mr. Tross served the Port Authority as an Operator within the Seaport Operations Department for more than eighteen years, during which he became a familiar and respected presence at the seaport, particularly within the facility where customers conduct business.
Delivering remarks during the ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of SCASPA reflected on Mr. Tross commitment and the impact of his service.

“Mr. Tross exemplified reliability and loyalty throughout his tenure with the Port Authority. Day after day he showed up ready to serve, ready to assist, and ready to contribute to the success of the department. It is therefore both fitting and meaningful that we dedicate this waiting lounge in his memory,” the CEO said.
Colleagues remembered Mr. Tross as a dedicated and dependable member of the Seaport Operations Department who approached his responsibilities with humility, consistency, and a strong sense of duty to the organization and its customers.
The ceremony included reflections from members of the Tross family and representatives from key stakeholder agencies, followed by the unveiling of the facility signage and commemorative plaque that will permanently mark the space in his honour.
By renaming the waiting lounge, SCASPA ensures that Mr. Ike Tross’s legacy continues to be recognized by staff, customers, and visitors who pass through the facility each day.
The Authority noted that recognizing individuals who have contributed significantly to the port’s development and daily operations is an important part of preserving the organization’s institutional history.
