Leader of the Opposition of St. Kitts and Nevis and Political Leader of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party, the Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas has congratulated Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit on his landslide victory in the polls.
“On behalf of the St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Party as well as in my capacity as Leader of the Opposition of St. Kitts and Nevis, I wish to convey heartfelt congratulations to the Dominica Labour Party and to you, personally, on your stunning and overwhelming victory in the polls. Having won eighteen of the legislative seats, you have received a clear mandate from the people of Dominica. Despite a very spirited fight, Dominica’s electorate has vindicated your leadership,” said the veteran statesman in a letter to his fellow Comrade and friend.
“I listened quite attentively to your Victory National Address which was very timely and I agree with the tone and content, especially the initiatives outlined to build peace and national unity, reconcile differences and return the nation to its usual state of calm and tranquility.
As your friend and fellow Comrade, I am happy to lend my fullest support and assistance wherever possible to help you to achieve your noble vision as you take your country and people forward. I stand ready to have an urgent conversation if necessary,” Dr. Douglas continued.
“Please also extend my congratulations and best wishes to the successful Candidates of the Dominica Labour Party. I have every confidence, based on the principled and people-centric vision shared by all who serve in the Labour Movement across the region, that your passion for service and unswerving commitment to addressing the needs and concerns of the people of the Dominica will ensure that this new term in office will be your finest ever! Compassion and Empathy have always been the essence of your leadership and I know that you also possess the competence and resourcefulness to continue to successfully advance the social and economic development of your beloved Dominica,” concluded Dr. Douglas said.
In wishing Prime Minister Skerrit “all the very best of success” in his new term, Dr. Douglas declared his excitement that “the “Next-Gen SKN” Labour Party is next!
