SKN PULSE – Cricket West Indies (CWI) Selection Panel on Friday announced a 15-member team and three reserves to participate in an 11-day camp in St. Kitts & Nevis before departing for the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup New Zealand 2018.
The world cup tournament shall run from January 13 to February 3.
The defending champions, (Windies U19) will be in camp from December 10 to 20. This shall be the last round of preparation before the team departs the region on December 28.
While the team selected is a young team, Kirstan Kallicharan and Emmanuel Stewart should be able to bridge the experience gap as they went to the World Cup last year.
In addition to the camp in St. Kitts, the team will also have a one-week camp in New Zealand prior to the start of the World Cup.
The full squad is as follows: Emmanuel Stewart – Captain (Windward Islands- Grenada); Kirstan Kallicharan – Vice Captain (Trinidad & Tobago); Ronaldo Alimohammed- (Guyana); Alick Athanaze- (Windward Islands- Dominica); Cephas Cooper- (Trinidad & Tobago); Jarion Hoyte- (Barbados); Kimani Melius- (Windward Islands- St. Lucia); Ashmead Nedd- (Guyana); Kian Pemberton- (Leeward Islands- St.Kitts & Nevis); Raymond Perez- (Guyana); Joshua Persaud- (Guyana); Jeavor Royal- (Jamaica); Keagan Simmons- (Trinidad & Tobago); Bhaskar Yadram- (Guyana) and Nyeem Young- (Barbados).
Brad Barnes- (Jamaica); Joshua Bishop- (Barbados) and Javier Spencer- (Leeward Islands- Antigua & Barbuda are the reserves.
In addition to West, the team will have Dwain Gill as team operations manager, Corey Collymore as the assistant coach, Khevyn Williams as their physiotherapist, and Zephyrinus Nicholas as the strength and conditioning coach.
Dinesh Mahabir will be the analyst.
