Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 01, 2016, (RSCNPF): Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian M. Queeley led a delegation of senior police officers from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force to St. Maarten for a historic meeting of police leaders and support staff.
The focus of the meeting with the Police heads from the neighboring islands of St. Maarten and Anguilla was to discuss matters of concern in addressing cross border criminal activity and to foster an atmosphere of enhanced collaboration, networking and cooperation.
The meeting held last week in St. Maarten was attended by the Management Team of KPSM, the Royal Anguilla Police Force and the Royal St Kitts and Nevis Police Force.
According to Commissioner Mr. Ian M. Queeley, “the meetings were very timely, fruitful and we left with a commitment from our colleagues on all islands that we will continue to build on the foundations laid in the past in an effort to reduce crime that can affect all our islands.”
The meeting was also a deliverable from the last Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP) meeting that was held in May of this year in Suriname.
The meeting was the first of its kind for the three islands and a pledge was made to meet again in the near future.
