Basseterre, St. Kitts – Eight young and talented teens graced the stage at 17 Degrees on Saturday night, (April 30) to compete in the 2017 Miss Labour Queen Pageant.
The show which was affected by rain didn’t damper the contestants spirit at all. At the end of a very keenly contested show Ms. Danecia Henry of Constituency #8 walked away the winner of the 2017 Miss Labour Pageant.
The teens who represented their respective constituencies entertained the large audience with their political satire, drama, dance and music.
The participants graced the stage in four judged segments namely, Promotional Speech, Creative Wear, Evening Wear and the Talent segment.
The final results were as follows:
Queen – to Miss Danecia Henry, of Constituency #7
1st Runner Up – Ms Taerani Phillip of Constituency #6.
2nd Runner Up – Ms Desnarine Hanley of Constituency #8
3rd Runner Up – Ms Shalyah Williams of Constituency #3
The annual Queen show was part of the Saint Kitts and Nevis Labour Party Month of Activities.
Other activities included public meetings, the Easter Monday picnic at Black Rocks, a mini motorcade and the annual Labour Day march.
The Queen show was followed by a public meeting in constituency # 2 last night, Sunday 30th April. Today, (Monday 1 May) the SKNLP held the customary wreath laying ceremony in respect of all fallen Labour stalwarts, the activities climax with the Labour Day March which started at the Patsy Allers Play Field.
The march travelled around Basseterre and would return to the starting point where addresses would be given by Trade Union representatives and the Leader of the Saint Kitts and Nevis Labour Party, The Right Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas.
The activities culminates on May 21st with the 85th Annual Conference of the St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party.
