SKN PULSE – The Leeward Islands Hurricanes have shown great improvement since the start of the WPCL competition. They have applied some pressure to the defending Windies Professional Cricket League champions, the Guyana Jaguars at Warner Park in St Kitts on the first day, (Thursday 9th November), as they are off to one of their best starts in the tournament; at the end of play they were 181/1.
Having loss the toss the Leewards were sent in to bat. An opportunity they have certainly maximise on as Anguillian Montcin Hodge, scored a patient 72 from 274 deliveries not out.
At the resumption of play, Hodge and Carty will seek to secure centuries and put the Leewards Islands in an even better position. Young Keacy Carty is not out on 61 off 185 deliveries.
Unfortunately, Chesney Hughes was trapped leg before by Romario Shepherd for 31.
Shepherd picked up the lone wicket for the Jaguars and so far has figures of 1-30.
