Leeward Islands beat Jamaica by 5 wickets as Regional U17 bowls off

SKN PULSE – The young Leeward Islands team started off their 2017 campaign in the Regional U17 competition with an impressive bowling performance as they bowled out Jamaica for 96 in 31.4 overs. 

While full scores in the match weren’t readily available, White and Francis bagged 3/18 and 2/18 respectively while Alford was also among the wickets. Francis picked up two wickets in two balls and missed out on the first hat-trick of the tournament. 

The Leewards were off to a rocky start as they gave chase with White been sent back to the pavilion for naught. At that point they were 1/1, (1.2 overs). At lunch, they were 64/4 with just 21.1 overs been bowled. 

The Leewards reached their target having lost five wickets. Euri Smith topped scored with 36, the Leewards won by 5 wickets.
