The Grand opening of Culturama: A mix of folklore with a whole lot of Calypso.
Last evening, (Thursday 25 July), junior calypsonians graced the stage at the Culturama Village and competed in the Peachicks Junior Kaiso Monarch contest which followed the grand opening of Culturama.
Fifteen junior calypsonians battled for bragging rights but at the end of the night, reigning Junior Monarch, Terron Webbe – (King Invincible) walked away victorious.
His song entitled ‘Welcome’ was a crowd favorite and so too was his stage performance. Gracing the stage during his performance were former Senior Monarch, King Meeko, King Delly Ranks and others.
Webbe amassed 409 Points and earned his ‘Three Peat’ by edging out King Akeedo by 21 points.
King Akeedo who sang ‘Do The Right Thing’ placed first runner up while ‘De Herald’ who sang Big ‘Trouble’ placed second runner up.
The final results were as follows:
King – King Invincible – 409 Points
