The 38th annual Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant is going all out this year to become one of the most anticipated events of the year. Slated for December 30th, the Pageant will be held for the first time at the prestigious St. Kitts Marriott Resort Ballroom, featuring seven finalists. The finalists this year are: 15 year old Deztynee Bryan representing Anguilla, 17 year old Zaria Bideau representing Antigua and Barbuda, Meghan Green, 18 year old Melissa Ferreira representing Guyana, 16 year old Dolicia Barry of St. Kitts and Nevis, 18 year old Cathlina Lawrence of St. Lucia and 18 year old Tasyanna Clifton of French St. Martin. Ms. St. Kitts Kadeema Blanchette is the reigning queen. Tickets for the Pageant are available for $100 at Occasions on Fort Street.
Additionally, one of the Caribbean’s most sought after artists, Ricardo Drue will be the headline performer for this year’s Pageant. Ricardo Drue is known for hit songs “Professional” and “Vagabond” and is a cultural ambassador to his native Antigua and Barbuda. And if Drue’s addition to the program was not enough, Caribbean comedian and media personality Errol Fabien from Trinidad and Tobago will be the host for the Pageant. Fabien is the chairman, co-founder and C.E.O. of Gayelle the Caribbean, a Caribbean content non-fiction television station based in Trinidad.
In an effort to rebrand the 38th edition of the Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant, the committee have enlisted less contestants and have sought to host the pageant at a more auspicious venue. The Marriott Ballroom not only provides patrons with a more affable setting, but also improved security and comfort. With lesser contestants, the organisers hope to provide a high calibre event, great production and a shorter, smarter and more enjoyable show. Added to these improvements, the Pageant committee will be unfurling the red carpet for participants and attendees, all in the name of making this year’s Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant the best ever. Patrons are encouraged to stay tuned for more information and updates via press releases prior to show on December 30.
