Basseterre, St.Kitts & Nevis – Young Jermaine Francis continues to excel regionally and internationally.
The Kittitian high jumper represented the Federation at the Pan American U20 Championships being held in Peru. Francis placed 2nd after clearing 2.19m.
Earlier this year, Francis rose to the occasion and succesfully defended his crown in the CARIFTA Mens U20 High Jump, (April, Curaçao) to not only win Gold but etched his name in the CARIFTA Games record books.
While he wasn't able to beat his personal best, (2.22m) at the this year's Pan American Championships, his CARIFTA record is there to show that he is more than capable of reaching even higher heights.
The Mexican winner, Roberto Vilches Rui posted a 2.21m jump while Juste Summerset of the United States jumped 2.19m for a third place finish.
